Isoko North Local Government has lifted restrictions on motorcycles (Okada), tricycles (Keke), and vehicles, allowing residents to resume normal activities starting Friday, March 14, 2025.

The decision was reached during an emergency meeting of the Local Government Security and Peace Committee, chaired by the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba.

Youth Election Ban Still in Place

Despite easing movement restrictions, the local government has maintained the ban on all youth election activities across the region. In an official statement issued by the Secretary to the Local Government, Sir Vote Umukoro, community leaders were strictly warned against organizing or facilitating any youth elections or inaugurations. Authorities have vowed to take firm action against violators.

Security Measures Remain in Place

The committee also reaffirmed its directive on tenant profiling and the reporting of suspicious activities to enhance community safety.

The Chairman commended the Nigerian Army, Police, SSS, and local vigilante groups for their commitment to maintaining order during the restriction period.
