I have seen people commending Comedian Akpororo as someone who represents Ebio musicians (Late Sammie Okposo) at the Experience event recently.
The truth is that Comedian Akpororo did well as a non-Deltan who grew up and learned the things of Delta State very fast when it comes to entertainment.
What Comedian Akpororo did at the Experience event to tell the host, Pastor Paul Adefarasin that I have moved my career from comedy to singing professionally. Akpororo sings and dances in his local church as a choir member.
Many writers scored him 100% or 96% on social media platforms but I scored him 120% on his Niger-Delta praise performance.
Comedian Akpororo is very familiar with some of the Ebio musicians in Lagos and Warri and he could have invited them to join him to perform at that global stage. He is a friend to many.
When he mentioned Ebuka’s songs that year, that recommendation led Ebuka to perform in 2024.
To the Ebio musicians, who have suffered obscurity so much, you need to invest in massive media promotions of your songs and personalities , some of you feel that if you have your own Facebook, either verified with a blue tick or perform on local stages, you have arrived.
You need media influencers to promote your songs and personalities not taking pictures with personalities that have less influence on your growth and development.
Late Sammie Okposo had the stage then but never introduced Ebio musicians that would have pushed his voice forward to date.
We are very good at a one-man show mentality, praising ourselves more than learning new influential skills from those ahead of us.
We must spend to get to the global stage not just dressing well on stage.
You hardly see Ebio musicians attending corporate events for strategic networking, except when they are performing at that event.
Nothing wrong if Ebio musicians can use this opportunity to come together and visit Pastor Paul Adefarasin for accepting Ebio music on his global stage.
