Afrobeats star Davido has once again denied claims that he is the father of a teenager who recently made a public appeal for a DNA test to establish her identity.
The 12-year-old girl, identified as Mitchelle Anuoluwapo Adeleke, took to Instagram on Thursday to share a heartfelt message explaining why she wants Davido to confirm whether he is her father. In her post, she wrote about years of bullying and emotional pain from classmates who mocked her over the claim. She said she wants clarity about her identity as she grows older and enters her teenage years.
Here is part of what she wrote in her Instagram post:
“As I grow older I want to establish my identity. I was bullied in school since I was 6-years-old and cried home daily. Other students laughed at me when I told them my father was Mr David Adeleke… As I transition into a young woman, I am respectfully asking Mr David Adeleke singer @davido for a DNA test to establish my identity.”
Davido responded firmly to the request, saying he has already taken multiple DNA tests, and all of them proved he is not her biological father. The singer took to social media to push back against the renewed claim and express his frustration over the situation.
In one of his posts on X (formerly Twitter), Davido wrote bluntly:
“After five DNA tests … she dey crase. Her and her mom better leave me the fuck alone and go find her papa.”
He added that the tests were conducted at different medical facilities chosen by both sides, and all returned negative results. He also claimed that he had never met the girl’s mother outside of the DNA testing process. The singer described the ongoing claims as harassment and said this was the “last time” he would speak about it publicly.
Davido’s known children are his daughters Imade and Hailey, who he shares with Sophie Momodu and Amanda respectively.
The latest exchange has brought the long-running topic back into public discussion, with some supporting the teenager’s plea for closure and others backing Davido’s insistence that the matter has already been settled scientifically.
