Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has publicly distanced himself from a viral video involving his son and Kayamata seller Jaruma, demanding that his name and picture be removed from the content immediately.
The actor took to Instagram on Friday to express his anger and disappointment after he saw his identity being linked to what he described as “disgusting” and indecent videos. He made it clear that he has no connection to Jaruma’s brand or products.
In his post, Emeka wrote strongly to Jaruma:
“JARUMA! JARUMA!! JARUMA!!! What the hell is this? What’s my name and picture got to do with these disgusting videos? Most definitely, you’re looking for my trouble… If you know what’s good for you, remove my name and picture from all your rubbish contents of indecent posts immediately. I have nothing to do with your products, and I dissociate myself from your brand.”
Emeka also addressed his son, Michael, with visible frustration over the path he believes his child has taken. He recounted how he once supported Michael’s education, invested in his future and even planned for him to study and work abroad, only to see those plans abandoned.
In another part of his message, he said:
“Michael, I sent you to the university, and your mother pulled you out when you were about to enter year 2, told you school na scam, encouraged you to become an influencer, singer and actor LIKE ME, and you will BLOW… SO, IS THIS IT?”
Emeka lamented what he described as a dramatic change in his son’s direction, saying the young man had refused “home training” and was now involved in content he found inappropriate.
He also stressed that he is a decent man who has worked hard to build his name, and he would not tolerate any association with content he sees as damaging to his reputation.
The post has stirred reactions on social media, with many people empathising with the actor’s concerns as a parent, while others have viewed it as a personal family matter.
