Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has started 2026 on a remarkable note after being confirmed as a three-time Guinness World Record holder. The new recognition comes months after her historic jollof rice achievement in September 2025, and it has reignited pride in Nigerian culinary talent on the global stage.
Hilda revealed the news on social media, updating her online profile to reflect her new status as “Chef X3 Guinness World Record Holder.” The confirmation came from Guinness World Records after officials reviewed her record attempt and found she had broken two separate records on the same day during her jollof rice cookout last year.
The original attempt, held in Lagos on September 12, 2025, saw Hilda and her team prepare 8,780 kilograms of Nigerian-style jollof rice – an amount large enough to feed thousands and already recognised as the largest serving of jollof rice ever made. After careful review, Guinness also ruled that the same effort met the requirements for the world’s largest serving of rice overall, giving her a second title from one performance.
In an official statement, Guinness World Records announced the achievement on its verified social platforms, confirming Hilda’s new status with enthusiasm:
“Yes, it’s true! @hildabacicooks is a three-time @GWR holder after her largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice has also been awarded the record title for the largest serving of rice overall.”
Reacting to the confirmation, Hilda Baci said she was equally shocked and thrilled, admitting she had not realised her single cookout would qualify for two records. In her own words, she shared her surprise and joy:
“So what I thought was one record… turned out to be two. And now, officially, that makes three Guinness World Records in total.”
Hilda’s journey with Guinness records began in May 2023, when she became the first Nigerian chef to set the record for the longest individual cooking marathon, lasting over 93 hours. Her 2025 jollof rice achievement added a second title, and now this latest recognition places her among the most accomplished culinary figures in the world.
