Nigerian music stars dominated the 9th All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) held on Sunday night, January 11, 2026, at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, claiming major honours and celebrating the strength of African music on the global stage.
Rema Emerges the Biggest Winner of the Night
Leading the night’s success was Rema, who emerged as the biggest winner by securing three major awards, including:
- Artiste of the Year
- Best Male Artiste in Western Africa
- Best African Artiste, Duo or Group in RnB and Soul

Burna Boy Celebrates Album of the Year

- Phyno took Best African Artiste in African Hip-Hop, recognizing his influence in the genre.

- Qing Madi was named Most Promising Artiste of the Year, highlighting rising talent in the African music scene.
