Sometimes it takes nothing more than a look on someone’s face to restart Nollywood drama. On Monday, October 19, 2026, actress Laide Bakare shared a clip on Instagram from Eniola Badmus’s appearance on the YouTube show Curiosity Made Me Ask. In the video, host and skit maker Isbae U names Laide Bakare as one of his favourite actresses, and  Eniola Badmus appears to react with irritation.

Laide Bakare took it personally and called Eniola Badmus an “ingrate” in her caption.

She asked Badmus whether she has to damage her name in public every time, and said she had warned her more than once to stop. She also wanted to know what that expression was about when the name of her “biggest benefactor” came up.

Laide Bakare said she played a big part in helping Eniola Badmus grow, and claimed She is determined to bring her down at all costs. She added that she won’t let someone else’s insecurity pull her away from her own journey, and that she won’t let this one slide.

The tension showed up again in April 2025 at the Lekki, Lagos premiere of Eniola Ajao’s film Owambe Thieves. A video from the event showed Laide Bakare confronting Eniola Badmus, who reportedly objected to being filmed with her.

Laide Bakare later posted screenshots of their private messages and accused Eniola Badmus of ingratitude, saying she had supported her career when other filmmakers were hesitant to work with her. She also took issue with Badmus’s alleged criticism of her for sharing a photo of the two of them together

At the time of filing, Eniola Badmus had not responded publicly. Whether she replies or lets it pass, a few seconds of podcast footage has been enough to pull an old quarrel back onto the timeline.
