Zlatan has shared the personalised notes and gifts Tony Elumelu sent him and Davita after their traditional wedding in Lagos. Here’s a look at the gesture.
Zlatan’s wedding may be done and dusted, but the congratulations keep rolling in. This time, one of the biggest names in Nigerian business is the one sending them.
On Monday, October 26, the rapper took to his Instagram Story to show off gifts from billionaire Tony Elumelu, just two days after his traditional wedding to Davita Lamai in Lagos. The photos showed a stack of white envelopes with Heirs Holdings branding, the investment company linked to Elumelu. Each carried handwritten messages for the couple, signed by Elumelu himself. One simply said “Zlatan, well done,” while others carried a warm congratulations and a line about Davita.

It’s a small detail, but it says a lot. Handwritten notes feel personal, especially at a time when most wedding wishes arrive as quick social media posts.
The couple’s big day was on Saturday, October 24, and the guest list had plenty of star power. Davido was among the faces there, and he stood as one of Zlatan’s groomsmen. The newlyweds also wore traditional attire that reflected their cultural backgrounds.
Part of what makes the celebration so interesting is how quietly the couple lived before it. Zlatan and Davita have two sons together and had kept most of their relationship away from the public eye. So the wedding, and the goodwill that followed, gave fans a rare look into a side of his life he doesn’t often put on display.
Tony Elumelu isn’t a stranger to the entertainment space either. He’s the chairman of UBA and the founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, and he has kept ties with Nigeria’s creative industry through his business and philanthropic work.

Zlatan chose to share the gifts with his followers, and the reaction suggests the gesture meant something to him. For a couple who spent years out of the spotlight, the congratulations don’t seem to be slowing down.
